It has always been known that our body needs essential vitamins to be keep our internal organs and other bodily systems healthy and functioning properly. The breakdown of vitamins into our bodies play many roles, and we need each vitamin for different reasons. There are vitamins that enhance our hair, skin, and nails, as well as vitamins that help regulate our metabolism and heart health. These are only a few examples of the plethora of necessary vitamins essential to our overall health and well-being.

Vitamin C plays a large role in regulating the upkeep of our immune system to assist in fighting off bacteria, germs, and illnesses. It is an antioxidant to our bodies and helps prevent and protect our cells from damage. Vitamin C is also necessary for our bodies to produce collagen, which helps us with healing our wounds. This essential nutrient is something that we always need to have in our bodies, and it can be found by way of taking actual vitamin supplements, or indulging in particular foods that are nutrient-rich and contain high amounts of Vitamin C.

As far as vitamin supplements go, you can find Vitamin C supplements at any vitamin or health specific store, such as GNC, and you can also find Vitamin C supplements at any local drug or even convenience stores. Vitamin C supplements such as AirBorne and Emergen-C are large doses of Vitamin C that are taken as a health preventative for those to take to refrain from getting sick. These supplements usually come in a powder sealed in a packet that you pour and mix into a bottle or glass of water.

Aside from taking Vitamin C supplements, there are several foods that are very high in Vitamin C content. Oranges and orange juice have always been known for their large amounts of Vitamin C content, and many people drink an abundance of orange juice if they feel as if they are getting sick. However, there are a lot of other healthy, organic foods that are jammed-pack with Vitamin C.

The one thing that all foods rich in vitamin C have in common is that they are all plant-based foods, and are also low in calories. Papaya has the highest Vitamin C content, as well as bell peppers, broccoli, brussels sprouts, strawberries, and pineapple. All of these foods, surprisingly, also contain a higher Vitamin C content than oranges! There are so many other food options that are high in Vitamin C, and it doesn’t matter how you get your Vitamin C, it only matters that you are getting it to support your immune and brain health.
The Best Natural Ways to Detox your Body

The Best Natural Ways to Detox your Body

Whether you want to get back on the wagon after a week of unhealthy eating or are in need of a more long-term body refresh, there are more than a few ways to give your body a full detox and eliminate toxins.

Cut out sugar

We’re all a sucker for a sweet treat –biscuits, sweets, chocolate, fizzy drinks – but the sugar in these snacks is dangerously addictive. The Independent even reported that sugar has a similar effect on the brain as cocaine, making it a very difficult habit to kick.

But if you’re able to push past the sugar cravings you’ll notice big changes to your body. To begin, you’ll begin to lose weight and dramatically reduce your chances of developing diabetes. My Fitness Pal has also reported that cutting out sugar can reduce blood pressure, help clear up your skin and reduce the risk of certain types of cancer.

Drink more water

We often underestimate how important it is to drink water, especially when it comes to ridding your body of toxins. While drinking lots of water does keep your skin hydrated and clear, it’s the internal effects that are more significant. Your body is around 60% water, so making sure you drink the recommended amount of two to three litres a day will ensure your bodily functions – particularly your digestive and urinary systems – are working at their best.

But remember, it’s very important that you continue these behaviours after the initial detox stage and make it part of your daily routine to maintain a healthy body and mind.

Green tea

To provide your body’s natural detox system with a little boost, add a cup of green tea to your morning routine. It’s packed with natural polyphenols which directly affect the liver and act as antioxidants that destroy free radicals before they can damage vital molecules.

Green tea has become somewhat of a superfood trend lately, meaning there are plenty of varieties on offer. Stock up on a few flavours, so you don’t get bored – sweet flavours such as salted caramel make a great alternative if you’re craving something sweet.

Exfoliate with Epsom salts

To boost circulation and give your skin a refresh, make sure you exfoliate on a weekly basis. Begin with a hot bath of Epsom salts, which according to Women’s Health relaxes the mind, reduces bloat and exfoliates the skin. After this, brush your skin with a natural bristle brush before showering to rinse away dead skin cells. It’s really important to apply an oil or moisturiser after you shower so your skin can lock in moisture and stay hydrated.

Intensive treatment programme

If you’re seeking a more intensive mind and body detox, particularly one that tackles more troubling issues, consider signing up for a treatment programme. The 12-week abstinence programme offered by Ana treatment centres delivers therapy and support through a number of activities and sessions to ensure guests leave feeling revitalised, refreshed and ready to continue their recovery in the real world.
Solving of Visual Problem

Solving of Visual Problem

We know that more and more of us are choosing to do literally all of our shopping and ordering online these days. Why? Because it’s so much easier than heading to the High Street to do it all, and we don’t have to carry any bags at the end of it!

From clothing to groceries, holidays to cars, everything is possible with an online connection, but what about your visual needs?

You might think that purchasing glasses online, from retailers such as Vision Direct, would be impossible, because of course you need to try the glasses on! This is a stumbling block, but with progress comes answers, and the Optical Partners Program jumps over this hurdle with ease.

The program has been successful in Singapore, and is due to be launched in Australia before the year ends. Basically, you use your smartphone to make an appointment at your optician’s office, you venture in for your eye test and try on a few pairs of glasses that you like, and instead of making a purchase there and then, you simply head home instead. You browse the huge amount of frames online and you upload your prescription, making your purchase online, at fantastic rates, with a larger selection of frames to choose from!

It’s basically win, win for everyone, and this cuts down on time, cost, and also opens up a whole world of style for those who need to wear glasses either on a permanent basis, or for just some of the time. Of course, this also stretches as far as prescription sunglasses. Once upon a time there used to be a very limited selection of these types of glasses, and that meant that you either opted for thick rimmed, huge sunglasses, or tiny ones with thin frames. If you wanted anything else? Not possible!

Time and progress has changed all of this, and now there are designer brands available, as well as a huge range of frames to suit all budgets too. This all shows that glasses are as much a fashion statement these days as your clothes are, as well as serving your visual purposes perfectly, and exactly to your needs and specifications.

So, the next time you’re due an eye test, opt for a different route and see how it suits you. If you’re keen to save money, time, and give yourself that fashion boost, there really is no better option.
