It has always been known that our body needs essential vitamins to be keep our internal organs and other bodily systems healthy and functioning properly. The breakdown of vitamins into our bodies play many roles, and we need each vitamin for different reasons. There are vitamins that enhance our hair, skin, and nails, as well as vitamins that help regulate our metabolism and heart health. These are only a few examples of the plethora of necessary vitamins essential to our overall health and well-being.

Vitamin C plays a large role in regulating the upkeep of our immune system to assist in fighting off bacteria, germs, and illnesses. It is an antioxidant to our bodies and helps prevent and protect our cells from damage. Vitamin C is also necessary for our bodies to produce collagen, which helps us with healing our wounds. This essential nutrient is something that we always need to have in our bodies, and it can be found by way of taking actual vitamin supplements, or indulging in particular foods that are nutrient-rich and contain high amounts of Vitamin C.

As far as vitamin supplements go, you can find Vitamin C supplements at any vitamin or health specific store, such as GNC, and you can also find Vitamin C supplements at any local drug or even convenience stores. Vitamin C supplements such as AirBorne and Emergen-C are large doses of Vitamin C that are taken as a health preventative for those to take to refrain from getting sick. These supplements usually come in a powder sealed in a packet that you pour and mix into a bottle or glass of water.

Aside from taking Vitamin C supplements, there are several foods that are very high in Vitamin C content. Oranges and orange juice have always been known for their large amounts of Vitamin C content, and many people drink an abundance of orange juice if they feel as if they are getting sick. However, there are a lot of other healthy, organic foods that are jammed-pack with Vitamin C.

The one thing that all foods rich in vitamin C have in common is that they are all plant-based foods, and are also low in calories. Papaya has the highest Vitamin C content, as well as bell peppers, broccoli, brussels sprouts, strawberries, and pineapple. All of these foods, surprisingly, also contain a higher Vitamin C content than oranges! There are so many other food options that are high in Vitamin C, and it doesn’t matter how you get your Vitamin C, it only matters that you are getting it to support your immune and brain health.
